A large pack of screaming, blood-soaked, cycling zombies took over the streets of the Lower East Side late Saturday night and into Sunday morning. They swarmed cabs, performed Poe and Plath, and aroused the local undead as they emerged from taverns. The ride continued over the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn, finishing at a community garden in Fort Greene.

Fifth Veil taking rapturous applause for their performance of The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind
Fifth Veil and Beirut performed for a packed and enthusiastic house in Fort Greene tonight as part of the Wordless Music series (curated by Ronen Givony), which "brings together the sound worlds of classical and contemporary instrumental music."

Wordless Music presents Beirut, at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple on Thursday 20th September. They'll be performing Osvaldo Golijov's The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind.

City Council Member Letitia James hosted a senior luncheon today in Fort Greene featuring a musical performance by local celebrity Black Velvet, also known as James Brown Jr. I have to say for a Wednesday afternoon it was pretty wild.
