Desktop Day: Carnival Creature

During J'Ouvert last weekend this spirit was seen moving along Eastern Parkway. Instructions Left-click on the image first to open up the large version. Windows PC: Right-click on the large image and select 'set as desktop background'. Brooklyn Labor Day Parade and Carnival: 40th Anniversary

The 2006 carnival Labour Day marks the return of one of our favorite Brooklyn events: the West Indian American Day Carnival. The theme for this year is "Celebrate Culture, Embrace Diversity." The parade runs down Eastern Parkway; Mayor Bloomberg is to cut a ribbon at 11am at Utica Avenue to start the party.
